See 'Scorer's Notes' below the fleet reports for explanation of RDG Application
Scorer's Notes:
Scoring details are prescribed in the 2024 DCYRA Sailing Instructions and implemented as follows:
1. Qualification for the Fleet Series Champions:
> combined total of races in both series multiplied times 60% (Flying Scot) or 50%(Laser)
> round the value up to the next integer (because the value is a minimum)
NOTE: In the report, a 'hash mark' (#) character beside the number in the "Tot" column...
indicates that the boat was not scored in enough races to qualify for the combined series.
2. Calculation of "Tot' Score for an individual boat [with RDG (redress) applied]:
> sort the boat's scores from best to worst
> select the top scores up to the number required to qualify / ignore the rest
> calculate the average of those scores and and apply that 'Redress Value' to the RDG scores
> Average Scoring (for PRO/Patrol Service) can be applied to up to 30% of the race scores
> re-sort the scores from best to worst (including the RDG value scores)
> select the new top scores up to the number required to qualify / ignore the rest
> Sum those top scores to arrive at the 'Total Point's
3. Apply Tie Breakers (if applicable)
As always, please send corrections! Thank you very much,
