7:00pm - 9:30pm - What's New in the New 2025-2028 Rules - Dave Perry explains all the significant changes in the 2025-2028 RRS. Q & A session on the rules and their related tactics.
Saturday, June 28th @ DCLSA
9:00 am - Dave Perry - racing tactics and strategy with Dave Perry
1200 noon - Start of race 1 with 2nd race immediately following (Dave will be on the water observing the racing, giving coaching tips, and videoing the action)
Following racing - Video debrief of the action with Dave- "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly!"
Sunday, June 29th
Dave will be racing a Flying Scot with his wife Betsy in the Sunday race.

Some of you may have read one of Dave’s books ( North U Rules and Tactics Seminar Workbook, Understanding the Racing Rules of Sailing through 2028, Dave Perry’s 100 Best Racing Rules Quizzes, and Winning in One-Designs) and understand the fun way that he explains the rules and how they’re applied.
On Friday, we’ll learn about the changes to the 2025-2028 Racing Rules of Sailing which govern our races on DCL in an interactive and engaging event.
On Saturday, Dave will do some on-water coaching and observing with a video debrief after the races.

DAVE PERRY
Dave Perry grew up sailing on Long Island Sound and won the Clinton M. Bell Trophy in 1971. While at Yale he was captain of the National Championship Team in 1975 and was voted All-American in 1975 and 1977. Other racing accomplishments include: 1st, 1978 Lasar North Americans; 5th, 1979 Laser Worlds; 1st, 1982, 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2015 U.S. Match Racing Championship (POW); 1st, 1983 and 1984 Congressional Cup; and 1st, 1994, 1999 and 2003 Ideal 18 North American Championship.
Dave has been actively working for the sport since 1977. He has led hundreds of US Sailing instructional seminars in over 50 one-design classes; and has been an author and Instructor for the North U Rules & Tactics seminars for many years. He is currently the chairman of the US Sailing Appeals Committee and a US Sailing National Judge.
In 1992 he was voted into the Sailing World Hall of Fame. And in 2020, he was inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame and received US Sailing's most prestigious award, the Nathanial Herreshoff Trophy for outstanding contribution to the sport.
